An additional 10p incentive on Feed in Tariffs - all that is needed


As consultations came to a close last week on Feed-in Tariffs (where users are paid a set tariff for any solar energy they put back into the grid over and above their own usage), ahead of their introduction next April (2010), Andrew Lee, the General Manager of Sharp Energy Solutions Europe, the UK's largest solar module manufacturer, talked about how an increase in the incentives could provide thousands of jobs in the UK.

"The tariff will set the precedent for how solar technology is to be embraced in the UK, and how we as a nation can meet the 2020 targets set by the EU. The proposed Tariff needs to be carefully set"
