Nottingham bids to become greenest city
Nottingham, just down the road from us and more famous for Raleigh Bikes and men in green tights is bidding to become the greenest city in the UK with a green energy revolution, reports the Nottingham Evening Post.
The idea is to attract large scale investment, cutting residents fuel bills whilst creating 'hundreds of jobs">
As well as plans to use the cities roofs to install photovoltaic solar panels on, a new Energy Park will be created, powered by food scraps and garden refuse.
Leftover ash will even be recycled by being used for road aggregate.
