Swapping Batteries for Boiled Potatoes
I thought i'd had potatoes in just about every guise possible - fried, roasted, mashed, in salads, even piped and in soup.
Not that i'll be eating this new 'recipe' but you could use it to light your dining room table instead of a candle.
From the pages of EcoFriend comes this snippet about studies conducted by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem where they've been enhancing potatoes as a viable power source by boiling them in electrolysis.
The treated potatoes are 5 to 50 fold cheaper than batteries and the clean energy produced is much better than the kerosene lamps it's hoped it will replace.
