The Guardian asks what does zero carbon look like to you?

The Guardian's environment blog posed the zero-carbon question last week after revealing that the Government department responsible for housing had had a re-think on its zero carbon housing policy.

The Government claim that by allowing flexibility, they're freeing up builders from the red tape of house building.

They've gone onto admit that the previously agreed targets were particularly challenging and may not have been achievable in the first place.

Builders and housing contractors will be delighted but, as the Guardian points out, green groups and the potential buyers of these new homes will be less enthusiastic. Particularly the latter who would have been hoping for homes with cheaper running costs, irrespective of the green credentials (in some cases).
