Mars Rover creaks on

We loved this report by the BBC into Opportunity - the other NASA Mars Rover, that's about to celebrate its 7th anniversary on the Red Planet.

Despite it's 'twin' being bogged down and awaiting the Sun to power it up, Opportunity continues to rumble on across the Martian landscape.

As Jonathan Amos reports, Opportunity may be old (it's original goal was to survive 3 months), creaking and arthritic, but it's still doing sterling work.

Even if you're not a 'space nut', the report is interesting enough to demand 5 minutes of your time - read the full BBC report here.
