What did you expect to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window?
We're cheating here a little since this blog isn't strictly about wildlife and the preservation of but I couldn't help but comment after seeing a glimpse of a story about a threat to the migration movements of Wildebeest in the Serengeti National Park.
It seems the 'locals' want to build a new road - it's present proposed route will cut across their migration path as it goes across the Park.
Opponents of the 33 mile road (which is due to start construction in 2012) claim the road will devastate numbers of not only the Wildebeests but also the entire ecological system that operates within the migration corridor.
As Basil Fawlty would say - may I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Serengeti National Park hotel window? Herds of Wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plain?.... eh, yes actually.
